Windows 2000 installation over Proliant 5500
We have downloaded the drivers and we think that the raid is well-configured. We think that that is all we need, isnt't it?
Thanks in advance, any help will be grateful.

Re: Windows 2000 installation over Proliant 5500
If you don't have one, make sure you have a driver for your array controller (download here http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/storage/us/index.html )if it is not supported by Windows 2000 (I think anything below the 5xxx series will work without a seperate driver). If you do it this way, after the server is build download and run the Proliant Support Paq (download here http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/16259.html )

Re: Windows 2000 installation over Proliant 5500
This week I've installed W2K on two Proliant Servers. A 6400 and a DL380. I was able to get by with just the Smartstart CD and the W2K CD.
Just boot to the Smartstart CD. This will allow you to wipe the disk, configure the array and get you to the point where you can then boot to the W2K CD.
Good Luck!

Re: Windows 2000 installation over Proliant 5500
We have the SmartStart CD but unfortunately we don't think it supports W2K (too old). What then? Can we do it without it?
We are going to format the drives, we don't need an upgrade, we are doing a clean installation.
Thank in advance

If not, I would go ahead and try it. Since this is a clean install, I think you have very little to lose.
