George:

Here is a link to all the drivers you may need for the DL580G1 on Win2K3:

Are you looking to keep all the data on the RA4000's? This is the big question!

b/t/w... now is the best time to make sure all the bios are up to date.
Enjoy!

John...

the bootable system disk will remain on the internal Smart 5i controller.. The RA4000's would hold application and data base data..

Ok... But are you intending to "keep" the existing data on the arrays? Or, are you going to wipe them out too?
Enjoy!

Re: Windows 2003 Server ( DL580G1 / RA4000 Arrays )

Well, that makes it very simple.
Do a system erase with the RA4000's connected and it will wipe the existing configs and volumes.
Just config the internal drives and build the O/S.
After the server is running, Install the ACU version for Windows, and you can rebuild the arrays to how you need them for the new server build. (i.e., larger volumes / tuned stripe sizes, etc.)
Be sure to use the latest ACU and build them from within Windows: (lots of fixes since what was put on the SmartStart CD)

Here are the FC drivers for Win2K3:

Let me know if you need any thing else?

I'm not sure that RA4100 is supported under W2K3.
Look at http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/softwaredrivers/ra4100sanss/index.html

Re: Windows 2003 Server ( DL580G1 / RA4000 Arrays )

Well, that always comes down to the definition of the word "supported". HP does not "support" it in terms of developing or testing drive or software sets anymore. They only "support" new systems now.
But if you define "support" as function with a 2003 Server, most users are simple falling back in the 2000 server applications and drivers to gain functionality
