Windows 2022 Install into HP Gen 10 MicroServer - NO ILO or Intelligent Provisioning
Hello,
need some help, I have a Gen 10 Microserver WITHOUT A ILO. How do I get Intelligent Provisioning or Rapid Deployment to run as I can't load the drivers into the Windows 2022 ISO?
There are not on the Bios. I've only got the AMI BIOS which offers, F2 for setup or F11 for boot menu. This machine DOES NOT have a ILO card either.
How do I either reset this machine to true factory state or get into IP to begin a windows install please?
For reference Here's a photo on the back on the machine, AKA No ILO or Intelligent Provisoning.
Can you advise how to install windows 2022 please?

Re: Windows 2022 Install into HP Gen 10 MicroServer - NO ILO or Intelligent Provisioning
Hi,
Did you try using ISO image via USB Stick or a External DVD drive?
Refer to Support Matrix.
Microserver Gen10 supports WS2012 R2 and WS2016
MicroServer Gen10 Plus supports WS2016, WS2019 and WS2022

Re: Windows 2022 Install into HP Gen 10 MicroServer - NO ILO or Intelligent Provisioning
Morning,
I have tried a ISO. via both DVD and USB (made with Rufus) but since I don't have the Array drivers in the Image, it fails and reboots. I've tried multiple images Windows versions including 2012,2016,2019 and 2022. Without the drivers, I can't access the storage and ISO install can't continue. the HP website suggests either Intelligent Provisions (whcih requires a ILO) and machine DOES NOT have a ILO. So I'm looking for anyother option.
Any more suggestions?

Re: Windows 2022 Install into HP Gen 10 MicroServer - NO ILO or Intelligent Provisioning
So
Accoprding your own paperwork can I can use 2022. but ok. lets try for 2012. since it's your suggestion. I have downloaded the drivers and added them to USB but I can't get ISO to book into the setup wizard as the storage drivers are missing. I've tried the window 2012 DVD via a External DVD USB Drive and I've also tried DVD via the SATA Connection, all allow windows to start loading but reboot without the drivers.
I don't have access to SPP as thats too expensive, since the support costs more than the server!
Any more suggestions please.

Hi,
Just make sure you are using the correct storage drivers, here are the drivers for this server.

One more thing, have you chosen the Storage options in UEFI setup, please see page# 92.

Re: Windows 2022 Install into HP Gen 10 MicroServer - NO ILO or Intelligent Provisioning
Hello,
Once you download the Smart array driver for windows, make sure to extract the ".inf" component that needs to be provided at the time of installation.
When you boot using the Iso or CD, you will reach to the screen which will say load drivers.
Click on load driver and provide the .inf file using the USB stick.
Thanks,
TAM
