windows 98

ok i got a proliant 4500 server from my aunts insurance company they were just gonna throw them away and i would like to know if it is possible to install windows 98 on it and use it like a normal desktop computer i tried to put in my windows 98 disk and start up flopp and i went in to system partiton and tried to get it to work but it says something about drivers and it cant read the cd

None of the HP Servers or infact any server do not support Windows 98.

I can see the drivers available for Windows 2000 and you may use Windows 2000 instead.

you need the health driver and so on to spin the fans down because your Fans or the Systemboard goes defect because the fans didn't spin down. is there an raid controller installed? wich driver do you want use for it?! ;o) it doesn't work.....

Very likely the graphics will be disappointing and you will need to buy a sound card. And it will be noisy at home.

I use a single server just as a backup store (RAID-1) for my data, keeping all my pictures and important business files from 1996.

Better to spend your money on a new computer
