ACPI Error: SMBus or IPMI write requires Buffer of length 66, found length 32
There are numerous bug reports about errors like this appearing on HP servers running various Linux distributions
The error is
ACPI Error: SMBus or IPMI write requires Buffer of length 66, found length 32
I've observed it on a MicroServer Gen8
These two bug reports suggest a BIOS update is required to fix the issue:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1079544
https://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7010449
but I already have the latest BIOS, version J06
Will HP release another BIOS update for the MicroServer Gen8 with this fix?

Thanks, that appears to be the version in this MicroServer:
# dmidecode -s bios-release-date

Re: ACPI Error: SMBus or IPMI write requires Buffer of length 66, found length 32
I'm getting the same error on Centos 7 with Proliant Microserver Gen 8:
Oct 31 10:47:30 srv kernel: ACPI Error: SMBus/IPMI/GenericSerialBus write requires Buffer of length 66, found length 32 (20130517/exfield-389) Oct 31 10:47:30 srv kernel: ACPI Error: Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PMI0._PMM] (Node ffff8a673b1a97d0), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT (20130517/psparse-536) Oct 31 10:47:30 srv kernel: ACPI Exception: AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT, Evaluating _PMM (20130517/power_meter-339)
Bios Version:
# dmidecode -s bios-release-date ---> 05/21/2018

Re: ACPI Error: SMBus or IPMI write requires Buffer of length 66, found length 32
For hp microserver gen8, after upgrading the latest firmware from here
the acpi buffer error disappear, the command
dmesg |grep -i buffer\ leng
return nothing.,so is ok.
sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
