Boot problem with CD-ROM on Netserver LH Pro

Switching on the server everything starts fine without any error messages. The only device I can use ist the floppy disk drive A. The computer does not find the CD-ROM drive and says that he has no hard disks. CD-ROM drive is now SCSI and correctly cabled. I use the latest bios and ECU software.

Any thoughts are very appreciated because it seem that I have no chance to configure the LH Pro without access to CD ROM and hard disks.

Thanks a lot for help

Rainhard.

Have you attempted to clear the CMOS on the system? Have you also verified the cabling in the system?

Check SCSI Id for each device.
If you have two same Ids SCSI card can't be detected

Re: Boot problem with CD-ROM on Netserver LH Pro

Hallo Theo, hallo guido

I tried to clear the CMOS by flipping switch tree into off position. Then I switched the power on and the system made memory check. The message I received was "CMOS checksum bad Run configuration utility" I have not received the message like "CMOS cleared".

I also checked the DIP switches on the hot swap subsystem. The sitches in upper cage are:
1,2,3 off.
4,5 on.
6 off.

The switches in lower cage are:
1,2,3,4 off.
5,6 on.

Thos is exactly the position described in the manual figure 3-3 page 15 and the default position written in the metal case of the Netserver.

Any ideas about what??s going wrong in my system??

Re: Boot problem with CD-ROM on Netserver LH Pro

Hi,
first, where is connected your CD-rom? and your Hdd?
if your hdd are connected on the mass storage cage, be sure to not have a scsi conflict.
try to connect only the CD-rom to the scsi controller and see what appear at boot time
the dipswitch have to be put in the way it look in the image I attached
