Can I ghost my raid1 to an image and restore?

I have a bad slot in my onboard raid in my LH3000R server. I can't rebuild the raid. I'm thinking I could ghost the remaining drive to an image, save it to another machine. Then re-initialize the array using slots 2 and 3, then restore the image to the array.

Does this sound do-able? Is it a good plan?
