e60 and win nt 4.0 install
I have been trying everything to make this install work. I build the disk from the navigator cd and still no luck. I already have nt4.0 installed on the disk and have a corrupt evt file which makes the server gpf on bootup. so I can not use the NOS install. The NOs install seems to blow away the data on the drive with no other options. but that is the only way I can get the nt4.0 install to work. I only have the embedded scsi controller, but it seem that this has a custom hp bios on it, so I can not use the generic driver. And I can not use the Hp driver that is made from teh navigator CD. Nt install never find the scsi interface even with the navigator driver loaded using f6 and manual driver loading.
please, I need help

Re: e60 and win nt 4.0 install
Hi Yang,
there's an easy way to install Winnt onto this server:
-boot to Navigator CD
-go to "configure"
-go to "custom install"
-start "automated install"
all the right drivers will be installed for you.
In the same area you will see "installation instructions" and you can save it to a floppy and print it.
Regards, Igor

Re: e60 and win nt 4.0 install
Hi,
you're probably pressing F6 when told. By that time the standard atapi driver is already loaded and it will not be changed later. If you press F6 shortly before or after the screen changes to blue during the boot up of the first diskette you should be able to insert the correct driver before it loads the standard one and be able to access the disk.
Regards,
Steffen
