Error on LH4 Netserver
We take an HP LH4 Netserver with RAID 5. Now the netserver starts with errors like
1 logical drives failed
Operating System not found
We have 6 hdds about 9.1 GB
Our list of drives-id, array number and status are
ch 0
id 0 a0-4 online not Responding
id 1 a0-0 failed
id 2 a0-1 online
id 3 a0-2 failed
id 8 a0-3 online
id 9 ready
Who could help, its important ?

Re: Error on LH4 Netserver
Looking at your array config, you have two failed drives in a RAID5, so rebuilding the array at this stage is impossible.
However, you may still be able to get your OS and your data back, but you must proceed carefully.
Check the properties of each drive in the array. Do either of the drives in "failed" status have any media or other errors?
You can check the properties of the physical drives from the main menu by selecting:
Objects > Physical Drive > Properties.
Highlight each drive, then press F2 to get its properties. Note which drives have errors, if any. Also, note the capacity of each drive. If a drive reads less than the expected capacity (especially if it indicates 0MB capacity), then it's probably a bad drive.
The drive which isn't responding might be brought back online by pulling the drive out and reseating it firmly back in the drive slot.
Since you can't rebuild a RAID 5 with more than one failed HDD, you have to decide which HDD to put back online. Put all but one of the failed drives back online, then rebuild that remaining failed drive. This method is more likely to bring your data back without corruption.
To bring a drive back online, select the following options:
Objects > Physical Drive > Properties,
then highlight the drive, press enter, and select:
"Make Online."
To rebuild a drive, follow the same steps, but select "Rebuild."
Call the customer support line for help with this, if you don't feel confident to do this on your own.

Re: Error on LH4 Netserver
The problem is that 2 HDD failed on a same RAID 5. But this is not the real problem!
Why don't you know that the first HDD was failed in a machine with RAID controller, hot swap facilities and self test analisys? No red alarm on computer or no RAID massage? Do you have a Remote control card?
