Expanding Array in ML 350
I want to expand an array in ML 350 with RAID 5, currently its having 2 partition with 100 GB for OS and remaining for Data, so once we expand the Array will it increase the size of second partition in the existing array ?
or we need to use any additional applicatio for increasing the size of the existing partition ?
Please support me

Re: Expanding Array in ML 350
Subash,
Expanding an array requires additional hard disk and enough BBWC in RAID Controller.
Once you expand the array, it will be added as free space .
Now use a third part software to resize your partition.

Re: Expanding Array in ML 350
Once you expanded the array, in Disk Manager (assuming Windows OS), you will see the disk has additional space on the end of it. If you just want to add the space to 2nd partition, then use Microsoft's Diskpart utility. It is built into Windows 2003/2008 and can be downloaded for Windows 2000. If you need to add it to 1st partition (boot partition), then you will need a 3rd party disk partition software as mentioned. BTW, you don't need a BBWC or bigger one. It may help with performance but is not required to expand an array.
