How to increace SmartArray 642 performance?
SmartArray 642 has basic 64 MB RAM, no additional battery backup memory unit.
It has poor read/write performance in RAID-5 mode (3 disks), tipicaly 10/3 MB/s R/W. I need at leest 60/20 MB/s R/W.
Does anyone knows a way to increase performance.
Or i should to buy onother expensive RAID controller.

Dimitar.
A Cache Upgrade / Write Cache Enabler kit should increase the performance of the disk sub-system.
The P/N for this is 351580-B21.
As to weather it would provide that level of improvement I would not like to say, although I doubt it based on the performance figures you have posted.
What model disks are you using?
