How to remove 2 disks from array and shrink array size
Hello, here is the situation. This dl380 was originaly built to house our Progress db and applicaiton. Now the server only runs the app and we use a sql backend whis is housed on a different machine.
dl380 on-board controller has two 36 gb disks in raid 1+0 config running one logical drive (C:) that only has windows on it.
smart array 641 controller has four 72gb disks in raid 1+0 config running two logical drives, (S:) swap is 4gb and the rest is data (D:).
so of the 140gb array we are only using 4gb for the page file and 6gb of data.
I want to remove two of the 72gb disks and put them in our sql box (same model) so they can be utilized there. Any ideas???

Re: How to remove 2 disks from array and shrink array size
afik you cannot shrink the volume/array.
so disable the swap partition through computer management (you probably removed/will remove some memory ?)
backup the data onto the systemdisk (or do a normal backup)
delete the volumes from within ACU
create a new volume
restore data.
