HP Agentless Management Service not starting (OpenSUSE Leap 42.1)

Hello Forum,

i have a problem with my microserver gen8. I installed the HP SNMP Agents, HP Health and the HP Agentless Management Service. The Agents are running, but when i start HP AMS i get this error:

I reinstalled it, i installed an other version, nothing seems to help. I opend a support case. The support guy told me to post here and in addition to that he escaleted the case to another level.

Anyone has a clue?

if you are using hp-ams-2.4.0 upgrade to hp-ams-2.5.0 (which was released last week on hpe.com). There was a known issue with some empty RPM tags that can result in the error you are seeing

so i removed the version before and installed the one you posted:

rpm -ivh hp-ams-2.5.0-1969.32.sles12.x86_64.rpm

AMS is looking for /etc/SuSE-release and it is deprecated but populated in SLES12. It contains different information in openSuSE.  This will be fixed in the next AMS release.

In the meantime, AMS will start if the installed /etc/SuSE-release is modified From:

openSUSE 42.1 (x86_64)
VERSION = 42.1
CODENAME = Malachite
# /etc/SuSE-release is deprecated and will be removed in the future, use /etc/os-release

To:

openSUSE linux distro 42.1 (x86_64)
VERSION = 42
PATCHLEVEL = 1
CODENAME = Malachite
# /etc/SuSE-release is deprecated and will be removed in the future, use /etc/os-release instead
openSUSE 42.1 (x86_64)
VERSION = 42.1
CODENAME = Malachite

This is fantastic! It is working however on OpenSUSSE 42.2 I had to create SuSE-release file and insert details you provided.
