HP netserver LH 6000r just starts and then stopps

Hi all

I have a problem with one of 2 HP 6000r servers:
-It just starts briefly and then it stops by itself, no beep no POST message.

Additionally the event log is full (512 events) from last year's memory errors and i can find a way to clear that event log and maybe see some new usefull info

Any help will be appreciated as this server should have started working yesterday ;)

Where does it just stop at? At the end? With a cursor in the corner?

To clear the event log, you can boot to the navigator CD and go to the Event viewer or Hardware event viewer. There is a clear option there. If you don't have a navigator CD, then go to this link and download the diag tools, make both diskettes. The Event viewer is on the second diskette, just boot off the first then place the second one in when prompted:

Usualy this symptom indicate lack of power,
check if both power cable are well fixed, or if some power supply is failed

Have had this problem with intel based servers when they are set to stay off in CMOS after power failure. There is a momentary start and computer goes dead. Reset and on/off do not work! Unplug and replug and you get same momentary start( about 2 seconds - longer than a supply breaker)
Fix:
The CMOS must be cleared to default values by removing battery for 20 mins. then booting in config mode and redoing setup.

I think we ever have situation with your HP, and try check your fan module, because we have failure notice with one of two module fan, it can be notice overheated will be happened. may be it can help you

The lh 6000 requires 3 power supplies to run you will have the same symptoms if you only have two working/inserted.
