HP ProLiant MicroServer G7 N54L - "real" AMD Chipset Video Driver needed
I've installed 2012 R2 to create a "mini server with NAS"
ISSUE:
No Video Drivers are listed on HP Support (only ones listed for 2008 R2 are for ASpeed - which is just WRONG)
This model is fitted with AMD N54L embedded SATA/RAID GPU
Having found correct hardware using AMD Autodetect utility
"Hardware found • AMD Turion II Neo N54L •A-Series APU"
Where is a real Video Driver, please? (Currently using deficient Microsoft driver that offers up a whole raft of wierd and incorrect resolutions)
Thanks
Brian
For the record
Found and fitted 16Gb compatible memory (Kingston Technology ValueRam DDR3 1333 MHz ECC DIMM - 16 GB Memory Kit KVR1333D3E9SK2/16G)
Also successfully installed additional 3 x 3Tb NASware WD drives +1 1½Tb Barracuda, original 250Gb is in DVD tray (5 drives total)
Also, to get the correct SATA/RAID drivers you have to
a) Uncheck the Show Compatible Drivers box, then choose AMD SATA Driver, or
b) Look for A-Series APU RAID Drivers on the AMD Site and install from there (N54L is Embedded RAID GPU Chip)
Now getting 120Mbps disk to disk, spinning, 160Mbps RAMdisk

Re: HP ProLiant MicroServer G7 N54L - "real" AMD Chipset Video Driver needed
OK, found a hardware reference page on Wikia.com (http://n40l.wikia.com/wiki/Base_Hardware_N54L)
This reveals that the embedded graphics are an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 - downloading driver package and ignoring Catalyst, successfully installed, now properly recognizes Displays and understands their capabilities. (Hu-bloody-rrah!)
