HP SIM login error - HTTP 400 bad request

Every time I try to login to my HP SIM installation from a client machine I get:
The page cannot be found - HTTP 400 - Bad Request Internet Explorer
After a number of attempts (and opening/closing the browser) I finally can get in; this NOT the same issue as the slow response login prompt fixed by HP SIM 4.2 because that is the version I have installed. I am running java build: Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_02-b09) Any ideas?
