HPE Microserver Gen 10 RAM Compatibility
Hi
My HPE Microserver gen 10 RAM using SKYHIX HMA81GU7AFR8N UH T0 AC (8 Gb 2400 Mhz)
I want to add 8 gigs more. In my country is so rare. So i decided to buy HMA81GR7AFR8N UH TD AD
By far I know
HMA81GU7AFR8N-UH T0 AC:
Type: DDR4 ECC UDIMM (Unbuffered DIMM)
Capacity: 8GB
Speed: 2400MHz
Rank: Single Rank x8
Error Correction: ECC (Error-Correcting Code)
Voltage: 1.2V
Form Factor: 288-pin UDIMM
Use Case: General computing, servers, workstations
HMA81GR7AFR8N-UH TD AD:
Type: DDR4 ECC UDIMM (Unbuffered DIMM)
Capacity: 8GB
Speed: 2400MHz
Rank: Single Rank x8
Error Correction: ECC (Error-Correcting Code)
Voltage: 1.2V
Form Factor: 288-pin UDIMM
Use Case: General computing, servers, workstations
In this case, the same specification but the new RAM installed even cannot run with the single RAM only (HMA81GR7AFR8N-UH TD AD)
What I missed here?
Let me know. Thank you

Re: HPE Microserver Gen 10 RAM Compatibility
From this documentation told about
Memory
Type
DIMM Slots Available
Standard
Maximum
HPE Standard Memory
DDR4 Unbuffered (UDIMM)
2
8GB (1 x 8GB) PC4-2400T DDR4 UDIMM
32GB (2 x 16GB) PC4-2400T DDR4 UDIMM
Notes:
− HPE memory from previous generation servers are not fully compatible with the HPE ProLiant
MicroServer Gen10.
− SKUs with X3421 and X3418 processors support memory speed up to 2400 MT/s.
− SKUs with X3216 processor support memory speed up to 1600 MT/s.
I think my specification was right. Any idea?

Re: HPE Microserver Gen 10 RAM Compatibility
After digging on internet, i think the problem is the unbuffered and registered RAM. Correct me if Im wrong.
The code in the RAM SK Hynix meaning (In this case HMA81GU7AFR8N - UH T0 AC 1851 C)
HMA: Manufacturer's product family code (SK Hynix).
8: Memory type (8 indicates DDR4).
1: Memory density (1 indicates 8GB).
G: Memory organization (G indicates Single Rank x8).
U: Memory type (U indicates Unbuffered DIMM).
H: Memory speed (H indicates 2400MHz).
T0: Memory package type (T0 indicates 288-pin UDIMM).
AC: Memory voltage (AC indicates 1.2V).
1851: Manufacturing code (specific to the production batch or factory).
C: Revision code (indicates the version or revision of the module).
I have found in the marketplace in my country with this type
HMA41GU7AFR8N - TF T0 AA 1644
HMA41GU7AFR8N - TF T0 AC 1812
The memory speed is lower which is 2133 Mhz. My default RAM is HMA81GU7AFR8N - UH T0 AC 1851 C. I'm okay with that. I need 8x2 Memory. I will pair with my default RAM.
Will it works with my server? anyone please help.

Re: HPE Microserver Gen 10 RAM Compatibility
Hello,
Please refer to section "Memory" of the document "HPE ProLiant MicroServer Gen10 - Options Parts" for the supported HPE option memory modules.
As long as the memory modules option part numbers are the same in the server it does not matter who the OEM for the memory module is.
Regards,
