LC2000 upgrade problem

Hi,
I;ve got two problems when I'm trying to upgrade my LC2000 station:
first - is it possible to use two PIII 1GHz processors with converter S370->Slot1;
second - when I start with one PIII 1GHz CPU (with converter) - I've got an error about microcode - I've already upgraded BIOS to version 10.38 (latest I think) twice, and still it's not working.

Re: LC2000 upgrade problem

The converter is not supported by HP in the system. As far as the error, the only thing I can suggest is try swapping the processors. If this doesn't work, then these processors were not desgined to work with your system.

Re: LC2000 upgrade problem

I'm still confused. Both CPUs work separately using the converter. Both converters are working fine.

What do I have to do, to upgrade microcode? I've loaded BIOS upgrade 3 times, and I'm still getting error about microcode.

How fast CPUs can I use in my LC2000 to get them work in SMP mode?

Re: LC2000 upgrade problem

Are you loading this new BIOS with only one of the two processors in the system?

Re: LC2000 upgrade problem

Yes. I'm upgrading BIOS with one of two CPUs on board. As I sad before it's impossible to boot up with both CPUs but it's possible to boot with one CPU (no terminator in 2nd CPU slot)

Re: LC2000 upgrade problem

About the only other thing I can suggest is swapping which one you place in slot 1. If the BIOS is up to date, there isn't any other way to make the system understand the micro code.
