lp2000r power problem

I have a weird problem on an lp2000r. The machine will reboot and come up with a message that time and date are not set. If I set these in bios on reboot the same message appears. If I ignore this message and tell the machine to continue it continues the boot and ends up with a blank screen. At this point the machine is dead and the only way to power off is to pull the power cord. If I then replace the power cord then this machine will not power on at all. The only way to get power back on is to lift the lever on the 2nd cpu socket (which has the terminator in it). As soon as I do this the machine powers on by itself and normally will boot into the operating system.
Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted

Re: lp2000r power problem

I am assuming you are using 2 power cables. It sounds as if you have a problem with the 2nd proc grounding out some how. I would call HP Support and have them help you.
