Netserver E 800 BIOS Beep Errors

When I power on my Netserver it gives me 4 short beeps. The server does not display anything on the screen but all devices power up as normal. The motherboard is a Asus CUR-DLS and cannot find any bios beep error code reference guide. Can anyone help? Thanks

Re: Netserver E 800 BIOS Beep Errors

Not sure I follow the beep codes table, all I get is four short beeps in succession at power up, nothing else happens or should I say I get nothing on the monitor... The fans on the CPU's come on, the SCSI drive spin up. Other than that, nothing. What would that indicate? I have tried adding a video card into a PCI slot, still nothing.

Re: Netserver E 800 BIOS Beep Errors

Hi Peter,

Updating the BIOS will be the best thing to start with. you could get the BIOS in this link
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?locale=en_US&pnameOID=20916&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=45939〈=en&cc=us&swEnvOID=54#326
Make sure you cleared the CMOS as follows after the BIOS flash
1. Turn off power to the NetServer and remove the cover.
2. Move switch 4 in the configuration switch on the system board (labeled "Clear CMOS") to the ON position.
3. Turn on power to the NetServer.
A message displays indicating the configuration has been cleared.
4. Turn off power to the NetServer.
5. Return switch 4 on the system board to the OFF position.
6. Replace the cover.
7. Turn on power to the NetServer and the following message displays:
"Incorrect System Configuration"
8. Press to run the Setup Utility when appears.
9. Make any configuration changes required.
10. Choose the Exit option and save the changes to save the configuration and exit the Setup Utility.

If this does not tresolve the issue :
1. Remove any add on cards(if any) from the systm and try to strip down to the base configuration (meaning one processor, one Memory stick on bank 0, and no add on card)

If this does not solve the issue again : do this to rule out that the motheboard is good or not

Reboot the server with out any memory stick and if you got a beep codes the main board is fine but if you did not get no beep code I would say the motheboard is toast and you would have to replace that

* If the problem still exist after the BIOS flash, make sure you haven't used any third party memory in your machine (that is another thing that causes such problem or system unstability)

Re: Netserver E 800 BIOS Beep Errors

I have tried all your suggestions, to no avail :(. I get nothing on the screen at all. The only time there is a change to getting 4 short beeps in succession and nothing, was when I took out both sticks of RAM, then I got one short follow by two beeps. Other than that, it seems to be deadâ ¦. Your help has been appreciated.
