NT4 Support for ML350 G4
I have recently purchased a new ML350 G4 machine with the intention of using it as an NT4 / 2003 swing server
i.e., load NT4 join existing domain as a BDC, promote to a PDC absorbing all security settings etc
Remove from domain and upgrade machine to Windows 2003
Nice idea but the G4 doesn’t support Windows NT4 and any previous (<7.1) SmartStart versions don't support the G4
Stuck
Anybody any ideas?

Re: NT4 Support for ML350 G4
Hi Tony:
All I know that G4 dosenot support the NT4 o/s.
HP dosenot supporte it on these servers.
OS Support Matrix at: http://www.hp.com/go/supportos
Not other ideas for now. You will have to install the supported o/s as per HP.
Best regards,
Tarek.

Re: NT4 Support for ML350 G4
Tony,
Tarek is correct. NT4 OS is not supported ont this new server.
Here's an idea...
Buy a used HP NetServer (i.e. TC3100 ) for cheap and utilize it as your swing server. When you have completed the migration to 2003 completely, you can migrate to your new ML350.

Re: NT4 Support for ML350 G4
Terek, Dave,
I am aware that the ML350 G4 does not support NT4 as I stated in my original message
What I am looking for is someone who has written bare NT4 drivers for the G4 machine
I am already replacing two Proliant 3000 machines so I can use one of these as a swing server but doing it this way adds an extra step
I would have liked to use the ML350 directly but HP have prevented me from doing do by not supporting the old OS
Thanks
Tony
