PDC (Primary Domain Controller)
Using windows NT 4.0 server as the PDC(Primary Domain Controller)there are two other servers which are Win NT 5.0 and they are BDC (Backup). When the pc(4.0) is rebooted at times one of the other servers on the network promotes over as the PDC. Is there a way to prevent this from happening.

Re: PDC (Primary Domain Controller)
Hi GMAC,
I don't know of a way to disable the automatic promotion of a BDC to a PDC, but why do you need to do this?

Re: PDC (Primary Domain Controller)
Because after the reboot the NT 4.0 doesn't promote back to the primary, it takes a while and a few reboots for it to gain control again. Thanks!

Re: PDC (Primary Domain Controller)
STRANGE
NT5.0 = W2k normally.
w2k has to be the primary Domain Controller.
Greetings.
