proliant 2500
I have a proliant 2500( i know oldie but goodie) it has no os on it, and the drives are blank, i have no software for it, i cannot get it to accept an OS, windows or linux. I guessi need Smartstart. But what version?? i have a raid array on it too, Raid 5. Do i need software for that as well? Has anyone had success loading a distro of linux on one of these servers?? Any and all help is greatly appreciated. TY Kevin

Re: proliant 2500
SmartStart V5.3 works on the 2500. Red Hat 7.2 installs easily. The only problem was getting the installer to recognise memory > 16M. Use a line like 'linux mem=384M'.
