Proliant DL145 G2 (Opteron 64) and Windows 2003 R2 x64
We are a volume licensed MS Windows user who recently purchased for BL145 G2s. I was trying to install Windows 2003 STD R2 x64 and had no problems except that none of the network drivers would install. Each time I try to install a driver from the support site I get a message "the image is valid but for a machine type different than the current machine".
Windows 2003 x64 is supported for the DL145 G2 but I cannot find drivers specific for 64 bit Windows and/or Release 2. Help would be appreciated.

Hi Sean:
- which drivers did you try and which link did you use.
- Have you tried to update the driver manually; ie extract the softpaq and from device manager try to update it manually.
- Nic card embedded:
Integrated Dual Broadcom 5721 10/100/1000 NICs
-

Re: Proliant DL145 G2 (Opteron 64) and Windows 2003 R2 x64
That didn't seem to work the first time, but I rebooted and then tried re-installing the driver from Device Manager and it worked, this time.
I'm still seeing that a driver for an Interrupt Controller is missing. Is there a corresponding driver install for this?
Thanks.

Re: Proliant DL145 G2 (Opteron 64) and Windows 2003 R2 x64
Hi Sean:
possible chipset driver missing; system board hardware (ie; usb controller etc.)
try using the
HP ProLiant DL145 G2 Software Support CD
version 3.0 (6 Apr 06)
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/23997.html
- it should have a chipset support pack that you can run.
- if not let me know which one has the yellow mark or listed as unknown under device manager and I will try to get it for you. Possible you can also get it from AMD website. http://cdrom.amd.com/21860/updates/opteron_drivers/english/amdapic64.exe (64-bit version)
-
from software cd: look for this file:
dl145amd-8132.exe. unzipping the file, you will find a directory called X_1_8_1_0 - this has the .inf files you will need.
- Let me know how it goes.
Regars,
Tarek.
