proliant ML 350 -scsi error

I have a scsi error when I try to restore data
(arcserve). I have W2000 server with the last updates.
Any ideas?

John:

We need more info to help you.

What is the error? What is the text of the error?

What kind of HBA are you using?

In what server? Model and processor (general specs)

What tape device are you using?

Has a data restore worked in the past or is this the first try?

Let us know. -john

Re: proliant ML 350

It's a proliant ML350T03 server, raid 5, 512 MB, W2000server. The tape drive is a DLT drive. This is the first time I try to restore. Error message: the driver detected a controller error on \device\Scsi\adpu160m2

Re: proliant ML 350

John:

Do you see the tape drive Poll during POST? Do you see the drive in the Device Manager?

Are you using a new driver from Arcserve or are you using native drivers?

You can try new drivers from here:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/18619.html

Also, are you using the latest driver for the HBA?
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/18604.html

Give these a try and let me know what you find?
