Raid assistant
After adding a new HDD to a raid5 logical drive in netraid assistant, the size of the logical drive in Windows2000 has not changed... should I reboot the server for the changes to take effect or should I do something else?

Re: Raid assistant
If you didn't initialize the drives, the OS won't see the added capacity.

Re: Raid assistant
I should have written:
"If you didn't initialize the NEW DRIVE, the OS won't see the added capacity."
If you initialized all the drives, you would lose all your data!
Sorry about that.

Re: Raid assistant
But it seems I can't initialize him anymore, the option is not available with the^physical drive. However, I can Initialize the logical drive but then I'll lose all my data...
What should I do? Remove the drive and start all over again? Can I lose data by removing the disk?

Re: Raid assistant
The problem might lie with the type of disk as it is configured in Windows2000. Is your disk configured as a basic disk or as a dynamic disk?
Get a REALLY good backup.
Then, you might be able to fix this problem by converting the disk from basic to dynamic.
But, all that is really a Microsoft issue and beyond my expertise.
As far as the NetRAID issue is concerned, I'd get a good backup, clear config, reconfigure the array using all the hard drives, reinstall the OS and restore your data from backup.
