How do you add the smart array 5i driver to WinPE?

I haven't. It's for awidows Pre-installation Environment CD (Windows PE). In theory all I need to do is add the inf file to the cd\i386\inf directory and the .sys file to the \i386\system32\drivers directory. Unfortunately that didn't seem to work.
