Support and Availability for Microserver Gen8 HP software.
Before anyone starts, I know HP has moved on, force fed ILO5 on AMS and so on. That is not the point.
Many hobbyists like HP hardware because it is reliable and ILO rocks. They are budget restricted to afffordable HP toys and Microserver Gen8's are still common on Yahoo Auctions at reasonable prices.
So, if HP has abandoned these tools, could they at least provide the source so we can compile them and install them on recent OS'? Support is unnecessary and they can be treated like abandonware.
The actual availability is the real problem and compatibility of vintage compiles with today's linux is.... not good.

Here, but that's an antique version of ubunty which is now at 22 and change.
Remember, hobbyist users like decent hardware, they get experience with it and those that go on to get jobs, likely recommend it, so it's a fairly cheap sales promotion. (for examples, see OpenSolaris before Larry's Yacht Fund killed it.)
(Wishing Gen10 stuff was affordable here...)
