Weird question, introduction/retirement dates for Netservers
I know this is a weird question, but does anyone know the introduction and retirement dates of the HP Netserver line (specifically the LH Pro)?
I'm trying to justify a couple of upgrades to my superiors and they use this as a reason (technical answers don't seem to be enough). I've checked HP's site but can't seem to find any dates (it tells me they're retired but not when).
Even if I can only get the years it would probably be enough, I don't want to guess and have some politacal nonsense start because I was off by a couple of years. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Weird question, introduction/retirement dates for Netservers
Peter,
one of the models of LH pro is i.e.:
D4843B -- HP NetServer LH Pro 6/200 NetRAID
This servermodel was introduced in 1997 and not sold anymore by end of 1998 and with the standard 5 year support after end of salesdate, HP supported this model until 2003.
This 5 year is the standard HP policy for those type of products, sometimes it is extended but as you see not for this one, it ended 2 years ago.
So for now this is not supported anymore and for sure no upgrades will be sold either unless you search on the internet....
HTH

Re: Weird question, introduction/retirement dates for Netservers
The official support end date for this product was 14th January 2004. No new support contracts will be issued after this date and parts availbilty from HP will end in 2008.
There are several third party support options available around the world who will still offer support on these products.
