Tomcat 4.0.1 unstable
Kernel: Secure Linux smp-1.4-1.i686
Tomcat: 4.0.1
JDK: IBM JDK 1.3.1
Problem:
While runing tomcat ??n tomcat comp
it is unstable. Crashing now and then (0 - 30 min)
Starting in SYSHI is not much better.
The abowe situation is with out my own software.
Now when i add my own software to tomcat, which runs fine on Win2k and RH 7.1+ enviroments.
(+ is for runnin on RH 7.1, 7.2, 7.3)
The software has a DB connection to Oracle.
While in TOMCAT comp sometimes connection to my DB (oracle)
runs out of connections. (Error message: No connections in connection pool)
The pool it self is 10 or 20 an d works fine in Win2k and RH7.1+
User amount on the other systems is 5 - 15 and no connection pool errors has occured.
For some reason the JDK doesent free the un used connections for further use.
JDBC driver type is "Java Thin". The same on all of the machines (win2k, RH7.1+)
Any good ideas for running tomcat in tomcat comp so that is is stable?
I would alsaw gladly hear about your own succes with JAVA on Secure Linux.
Thank you,
Mikko

Re: Tomcat 4.0.1 unstable
Have you tried upgrading to the latest kernel? Try HPTL_00027. I don't know if that would help, but I can't hurt :-)
