I want to be notified when the Exchange connector for cc:mail Service stops on my Win2k server. I'm running CIM7 SP2 on Win2kSP3 server. According to the docs, it says to create a query with either "All Service Event Types" or "Event(s) by Service Status" but when I create a new query, I don't see these as an option. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Solution
Before you create the query, you'll need to go to the exchange server, and open up the Compaq Management Agents control panel applet. Go to the process monitor tab and select the appropriate process (in this case your CCMail process) and then select the type of trapping you want, whether it's for service start, stop, or start & stop. Then, when the service behaves accordingly, the agents will send a trap to the Insight Manager server. You can then set up the query to find those events.

Re: All Service Event Types
By the way, when you create the query, make sure it's an event query, and you'll select Events of Type and then Process Monitor Event (listed under application).

Re: All Service Event Types
Thank you very much. That works out great.
