Automatic Event Handling

I have a problem with the email notification. The system only reports when someone logs in/out and when it is not able to poll/ping a server.

When a power supply or a disk fails no emailnotification is sent. I have tried to set up different event handeling tasks, but without any sucsess. Any tips ?
