Autorun.exe Visual C++ run time error

I have two systems here running Windows 2000 server here that won't let me use the 5.40 version of Compaq Management CD.

When I stick in the CD and it runs Autorun.exe the following window pops up:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program D:\Autorun\Autorun.exe
Abnormal Program Termination

Thoughts?

Just don't use the Autorun feature then. Open Explorer and go directly to the directory of what you want to install.

Re: Autorun.exe Visual C++ run time error

I discovered the problem. My msmxl3*.dll libraries were either corrupt or the wrong version. I replaced them from another system and autorun.exe ran fine.

No, you don't have to copy any files. Just go to the appropriate folder for whatever you want to install, and run the setup.exe from there.
