Re: cmx - what does it stand for?>
Hi,
CMX (Cluster Monitor Extension).
There was a customer advisory regarding CMX update failure when a node is missing from the cluster (powered off or disconnected etc.) I don't know if this is relevant.
Regards,
Brian
DESCRIPTION
If a daily or initial Cluster Identification task is run for a node that is unavailable (e.g., rebooting, powered off or disconnected), the node icon and CPU, Disk and Env CMX icons remain blue (i.e., offline). The CPU and Disk CMX icons fail to refresh even when the node is back online.
SCOPE
Any Compaq server configured in a clustered environment running Compaq Insight Manager XE 2.0.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, rerun the Cluster Identification task while the node is online (and running the SNMP agents) so Cluster Monitor can detect the CMXs.
Perform the following in Cluster Monitor to run the Cluster Identification task:
Go to the Devices icon -> Tasks menu.
On the Tasks page, under Polling Tasks, click "Execute Now" for the Daily Cluster Identification task.
