CPQDASA abends on Netware servers

Hi,

We have had abends in CPQDASA across a number of our servers.

7 servers have been affected, some more often than others over the last year.

All servers at Netware 6, Server hardware is -

2 PL5500s with Smart Array 3200, latest bios revisions and firmware, one has PSP6.30 the other has PSP6.40, these have abended once each over the last month - cpqdasa abend in cpqarray.

2 PL6000s one with SA3200 one with SA3100, both at PSP6.00, the SA3100 machine had one abend in cpqsssa the SA3200 had one abend in cpqarray and two in cpqsssa. Both at latest bios and firmware.

2 PL1600s with SA221 controllers one had one abend in cpqarray when at PSP5.50 the other has had five abends cpqdasa in cpqarray while at PSP5.50 and later up to PSP6.40. Both at latest bios and firmware.

1 ML530 G2 server has had two cpqdasa abends in cpqraid and was at PSP6.00, no abends seen since moved to PSP6.30, machine had the latest firmware and bios at the time of the abends.

I have done a search of the forums and can find nothing relevant.

Has anyone seen these sort of problems?

Thanks,
Andy..

Re: CPQDASA abends on Netware servers

We had a similar issue with pre SP6 NW5.1 servers and the Drivers that came with Smartstart v5.3.

We resolved it by backrevving the ideata.ham after advice from Compaq (as was).

Hope this helps.

Re: CPQDASA abends on Netware servers

Hi Paul,

I unloaded Ideata.ham and Idecd.ham from all of our servers last week and commented them out of startup.ncf, we will load manually if required.

Unfortunately this hasn't made any difference as we had another cpqdasa abend on one of our PL5500s on Sunday evening.

Cheers,

Andy..
