Event ID 267
Just installed the latest version of the agents (Foundation, Storage, NIC, etc...) on a Compaq Proliant 2500. All other servers are running the 4.9 version of the agents and work fine with Insight Manager 4.9. This was a clean install with no prior versions of the agents. The only item I forgot to install before the agents was SNMP, and this has been installed now. I get an inaccessible device in CIM and when I look at the Event Viewer I see:
Foundation Agents - Event ID 267 - The Compaq Foundation Agents service could not start agent "CPQMHOST". The data contains the error code.
0000: 02 01 00 00 ....
Event ID 270 :The Compaq Foundation Agents service could not terminate agent "CPQMHOST". The data contains the error code.
0000: 02 01 00 00 ....
Event ID 4363 - The Compaq External Status MIB Agent did not respond to a request. The data contains the error code.
0000: 02 01 00 00 ....
I did an uninstall and reinstall with no luck. Any ideas?

Re: Event ID 267
If you have any NT or Windows 2000 service packs installed you may need to reapply them after installing SNMP. I've had SNMP related problems disappear after reapplying my SP, maybe it will help you as well.

Re: Event ID 267
Make sure that you also applied the latest SSD (NT or Netware) or CSP (W2K).
For the Agents 4.90, there is a prerequisite of SSD version 2.19 (NT).
Also update the firmware and system partition of your server before applying a new SSD.
