How can I get Agents for Non Compaq/HP hardware ?

Where would I be able to obtain the agents/MIB's for Non-Compaq/HP Hardware, And how are they installed ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HP does not generate agents for non-HP hardware. If you are trying to monitor non-HP and HP hardware, you can use Insight Manager 7 to get some limited data from the non-HP systems (including events if MIBs are compiled in), or you can use one of the Openview products (like NNM) to manage your mixed environment.

To manage via Insight Manager 7, just make sure the vendor supplied agents are installed on the box and you should be good to go.

Re: How can I get Agents for Non Compaq/HP hardware ?

I installed the IM sw on a non-compaq server, even though it is NOT ufficially supported.

Server mgmt agents got installed along the way (either that, or when I installed the version control repository manager), and they are happily chugging away now: the System Mgmt home page (web agent ?) is up and running, and in the Management Agent pages I can get at least a little info on server uptime, netword card model and disk utilization...

You could try out installing the latest SupportPaq (6.30 if your running win2k) on the server in question and see what happens - unless it is already in production...
