HP Systems Insight Manager 4.1 released!

Version 4.1 of HP Systems Insight Manager has been released and is available for download from http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=ISS

hpSIM is the replacement for Insight Manager 7. The new version 4.1 contains a data migration tool to make upgrading from IM7 easy.

You should plan your migration immediately.

IM7 should now be considered end-of-life. All development and update work has halted. From now on, inquiries to support that indicate a bug or a problem with the IM7 software will result in a request that you upgrade to hpSIM 4.1.

Do you have that prodoct on your ftpserver to download it with FTP?

Due to US export restrictions on secure technology and embargoed states, the download has to be front-ended by a registration page. If you are unable to download, it is available in the ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack 7.1 which will be coming out next month; you should receive it with any new server you purchase. Alternatively, a single pack can be ordered online at http://www.hp.com/servers/smartstart and choose the [Buy Online] button.

"You should plan your migration immediately." More like plan to redo your entire environment from scratch if you want the product work as advertised, or maybe wait til the next rev...

"IM7 should now be considered end-of-life." This comment looks great!! Esp. for those of us that support critical systems. "Hey I am monitoring my systems with an end of life product!! Great promo for HP SIM 4.1!!"

Sorry, for the sarcastic remarks. You have a great product with a bunch of new features, all of which I would like to utilize. However,I think I will stand by for the next release.
