hpasm and trapemail directive
I have hp System Health Application and Insight Management Agents Package 7.4.0-56.sles9 and SNMP Daemon 5.1.3.1-0.13 running on a ProLiant ML530 under SLES9.
To get trapemail running I also installed sudo-1.6.7p5-117.1.
In /opt/compaq/cma.conf I configured trapemail to send an eMail message and to write to syslog:
trapemail /usr/bin/logger -t TRAPEMAIL
trapemail /bin/mail -r root@ -s 'HP Insight Management Agents Trap Alarm'
If I trigger a test trap from the snmp configuration sheet within the System Management Homepage, I get the log entry in /var/log/messages but I get no eMail.
I tested the sending of eMail by giving sudos command (the string after token "trapemail") on the shell prompt. That works.
So I see, that the trap mechanism is working and also the mailservice is working on the machine.
I find no error messages about a failing mail sending, neither within syslog, cma.log, net-snmpd.log nor within the postfix directories.
mailq stays empty.
It seems like the mail command is not reaching the system.
What can I do, to get this running?
Thanks for your advice in advance
and best regards,
Gabriele
PS: I found the following posting refering to the same topic, but the perl script (adapted to my mail command) didn't make a difference. I get no mail :-(
