Installing IM7 SP2.1

When Installing IM7 SP2 (SP24904.exe) on a Evo D530 Windows 2000 Server I get as far as Installing Proliant Performance Analyzer and then system halts. Does not showing anything obvious in the Event Viewer.

I could install IM7 OK on Windows 2000 Prof, however would prefer W2K Servers.

Are you installing IM7 sp2.1 in a terminal services session?

If so, that is the reason why PPA installation halts. You need to login at the console and re run your IM7 sp2.1 setup.

If that is not the case, we'll try something else.

Murphy's law, 5 minutes after I place this request I found an earlier messages re the Terminal Services issue.

I have now successfully installed IM7 on the console.

I will say that this problem is not mentioned in any of the HP Docs ie Known issues etc.

A lot of software doesn't install properly from Terminal services. When in doubt, try installing directly from the console.

It always good practice to install drivers and applications directly on the console :)

Just my 2 cents.
I had the same issue when installing IM7SP2.1 on Windows Server 2003 with a classic remote desktop session. I tried to install IM7 through a remote desktop session by connecting to the console (mstsc.exe -console) and it worked. This is a new feature of Windows that can bypass all previous remote installation problems.
