Java 1.4 for Web client

I have JRE 1.4.1+ installed on my workstations. When I connect to CIM7, it tries to download and install 1.3.1_02. Is there any way (or plans) to get CIM7 to support the newer versions of Java?

The new version (IM7SP2) still needs 1.3.1_02 so no luck there. Maybe for a future version and to keep pace with the Sun revisions of the Java client?
