Java Plugin Doesnt load :(

Hi All,

Have installed IM4.1 on a windows 2000 server. All very standard. After install I launch the app, it checks the http service and proceeds to a window telling me the name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the site. I click yes to proceed. then the java window appears with pretty much the same message if i click yes to allow the non trusted certificate a window appears titled 'hostname mismatch' hostname url is 'localhost' and the certificate is the machine fqdn. if i change the url to the fqdn then it errors with unknow url. if i click yes and proceed from the hostname error screen the browser sits with please wait. checking for java plugin. I have looked in the certificates and changed the url and am sure its something simply that i need to change. Can anyone guide me please. appreciate any help

I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one having this problem. My install is all "very standard" as well.

Didnt have a resolve. on the server side of things, i just rebuilt it and it works fine now. I still have the same problem on my admin client although other admins are ok. I think IM may need a specific version of java? i tried to be clever and installed the latest. I may try uninstalling java and reinstalling the version that came with IM. If that is the problem then i am suprised no one knew it on this forum. If its something else i'd be interested to know!!

Great! I'm glead to hear yours is working. I've rebuilt my server 3 times. However, I've been using the latest Java everytime. I'll have to try backing it off to and older version.

This is the Insight Manager 7 forum. Are you referring to that or to HP Systems Insight Manager 4.0 or 4.1?

intially the problem was with insight 7.1. i rebuilt the server and from another post of yours saw that 4.1 was released so i used that. either way the problem was there. is the java components specif to the one supplied with the IM software? it seems that later versions seem to have the above problem?

Exact same thing happens to me. i am using 4.1 and it did work for a while and suddenly all I get now after clicking the same messages in "Please wait, Checking for java plugin"

I do not want to have to reinstall again. finally giot all the alerts and events set up correctly.

When I have seen this happen, it typically is after recovering from a catastrophic error like running out of diskspace. Re-installation is usually the only cure.

I Installed the Plug in from the SIM 7

Ive had the same problem - I fixed using the following:-

Download and install critical update patch

http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/download.html#Windows4.1update

I would also remove any Java plugin software through control panel then install the latest Java plugin release -
