No response from Web Agent at 2381

I have 50 servers with CIM 7 console, (6.10 agents). On 3 of them, suddenly, the device home page (https://localhost:2381) does not come up. I get "The page cannot be displayed....Cannot find server or DNS Error"
The strange thing is that http://localhost:2301 comes up like it should and redirects me to port 2381 where I get...nothing at all.
It's working fine on all of our other servers.
Any ideas ?

Restart the snmp servive which will cause you to restart the management agents. Confirm that all your management agents are running after you restart snmp. If that does not work, Uninstall and re-install the management agents.


By the way, Why are you still using version 6.10 of the agents? HP is now up to version 6.40 and the changes and fixes are significant.

Are these 3 servers on the regular network with the rest of your servers? I'm wondering if they are in a DMZ or any other secured zone that might not be letting certain port traffic through?

First make sure you try from another device. Make sure that you have the proper ver. of Java loaded. I had a problem where a newer version of Java got loaded onto my device and I had the exact same problem. To make sure you have the proper ver., remove Java client or clients and then go back to your IM box, eg. http://servename:280, log in and then the java client will automatically be relaoded onto your device. Hope this helps

Not a very clean solution, but it worked. I re-installed the agent (upgd from 6.1 to 6.3) on the affected servers and all is happy.
