Remove pre-W2K Compaq Support Software
I just upgraded a NT4 PDC to W2K. The NT4 PDC ran all of the NT4 Insight Mgr software (installed from SmartStart) prior to the upgrade. Well, in W2K none of the NT4 software is compatible (event the W2K upgrade said it wasnâ t compatible), but there aren't any uninstalls remaining to remove the several old NT4 Insight apps. Iâ ve reinstalled newer HP Management Software in hopes that would clean up everything, but it just installed new stuff, separately. How do you remove, cleanly, all of the old, defunct Compaq NT4 apps?

Re: Remove pre-W2K Compaq Support Software
Not sure if you can run it after the fact, but you need the "Windows 2000 Primer Utility" :
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/10776.html
This SoftPaq contains a Compaq Primer Utility for Microsoft Windows 2000, which is used to remove previously installed utilities not supported under Microsoft Windows 2000.
These unsupported utilities were designed to run on Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 and/or Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. The Compaq Primer Utility for Microsoft Windows 2000 provides you with the ability to remove the unsupported utilities before upgrading to Windows 2000.

Re: Remove pre-W2K Compaq Support Software
Thanks. I was just on the tail of that thing. Unfortunately, that version you linked me to doesn't work under W2K (even from a command line).
