Server requirements for Compaq Insight Manager 70

Hi

Can anybody tell me what hardware I need for setting up a good CIM70 Server.

My current server is a Compaq Proliant ML330 with 384MB RAM a single 9.1 GB U3W disk. Running Win2k SP4 and CIM70 SP2

I am managing 130 servers with it ( although I am still running the desktop version 5.50)

Do I need a Raid Solution for my new server ? What is the minimum memory needed ?

About 6 months ago I found a document telling me what specifications I needed but I only use 130 servers I do not manage the 2500 workstations. That where managed in the document

So i only need a server to manager 130 server not to manage 130 server + 2500 workstations

If you will be running MS SQL on the same box, You need to bump the memory up to at least 500MB. If you have extra memory, bump it to 1GB. SQL server is going to be your memory hogger. Other than that your hardware is fine to run Insight manager 7 for the number of devices you are going to monitor.

It is possible that my boss assigns me an other server perhabs a proliant 1600 (450 till 600mhz)

Will this do ?

Or should ik al least get an PIII 933 ? like the ml330 i am using know.

The ML330 has to go because i got it from a test envirement that is needed within 2 months.

The minimum requirement is 400Mhz Pentium II. From 450 to 600, you are still fine. Just make sure you have enough memory to run IM7, MS SQL and VCRM. For memeory as I stated before, I would bump it up to about 1 gig.
