SNMP Configuration

How does one configure the SNMP community on a Windows 2000 server?

Re: SNMP Configuration

Go into the Properties of the SNMP service in Services in Administrative tools in Control panel. Enter a community string, a trap destination and which host can do snmp get requests.

Re: SNMP Configuration

Also, with the later versions of the HP Agents you can do this from within IM.

From the device Home Page select SNMP Configuration.
I add the IM Server the the Trap Destinations for the public community.
I've also set up a Insight Manager Community name which I add as Read/Write in the Security Section.
