As soon as I did that, however, the SMH returns a more or less empty page, with only the Version Control Agent showing info. The list of Integrated Agents listed at left includes only the Version Control Agent and the Compaq Survey Utility (on my ML570G2) and HP Insight Diagnostics (on my DL380G2). The Insight Management Agents are not listed on the two 'bad' servers, but show up on all my non-upgraded good servers.
Have searched high and low in the documentation and on-line for a solution, but am coming up empty and feeling very stupid. I must be missing something very basic...
W2KSP4 servers, accessing SMH locally on the server.
Cheers,
Philippe

Re: System Management Homepage - Suddenly Empty...
What threw me for a loop was the fact that SHM was running 100% OK before I updated the Insight Mgmt Agents, and then suddenly not.
Had not changed any SNMP properties or any other settings - SNMP was accepting "from all hosts" as before, etc.
The problem was, I guess, that the Insight Mgmt Agents package included some part of the new SMH, but not all of it, leaving me with a partial install of the new SMH. The login page etc was still the old one, etc.
Having now installed the full PSP, the SMH is now working again, and is visibly a new version. (Had been reluctant to install the PSP since it seems to insist on installing all or nothing, including stuff I don't need... but that's a separate complaint)
Ran into one more hick-up, probably related to the fact that the server is a DC. The local admin account - disabled since this is now a DC - used to work when logging in to the 'old' SMH. Now, after the upgrade, it no longer works, and I have to use the "{domain}\Administrator" account. Took me a while to figure that out, but all is well that ends well.
Thanks again to all.

Re: System Management Homepage - Suddenly Empty...
On one server, installed the full PSP package, and SMH now works like a charm again.
On the other, installed the full SMH package, with the following choices: a) added no Group Names; b) selected Local Access Administrator; c) selected Trust All; d) enabled IP Binding, but specifying no settings. SMH now works like a charm again. (Realize I may need to revisit the settings for bettter security).
