Unable to connect to remote repository

I have IM7 SP2 on 1 server with remote SQL DB on another.

I am able to connect a local IE browser from my IM7 server to the remote DB yet I am unable to do so from a remote IE session.


Background
--------------
IM7 service runs with a service a/c (local admin on IM7 server). This service a/c also has DB login rights on the DB server (and is dbo for the PPA and insight DBS).

Can anybody throw light on why I get the "Unable to establish communication with server" error after logging in from remote IM7 console?
