Unit ID LED?

I've recently installed version 5.10 (Manager & Agents) and discovered the new added "Unit ID LED". In the Help it says it can be ON, OFF or UNKNOWN. That's all great but what does it indicate?
Next problem I've got is that I can't turn it off. When I try I get the message I should check the community string and if the client is configured to enable sets.

Imagine you have racks full of thin servers and one of them shows a problem in CIM. Turning this light on makes it a little easier to find the server. I don't think it has any other purpose.
