Mine can't and this is causing a critical failure to show up in HP SIM, on the iLo2 inside the server which HP SIM is running on.
My other servers show this same symptom, but its not normally noticable since I normally do not access an iLo from its own host over the network. This behavior is the same with firmware 2.01 or 2.05.

Re: Accessing iLo over network from its host on the same subnet?
Are you using VLAN?

Re: Accessing iLo over network from its host on the same subnet?
VLAN is set to disable in hponcfg.
Everything except the host server can access the ilo2 over the network. And the host server can access everything except the ilo2 over the network. There are four servers each with an ilo2. Each server can successfully ping 4 servers (including itself) and 3 ilo2's.

Re: Accessing iLo over network from its host on the same subnet?
Did you try bonding two network ports (so that in theory there was still a way out/into the server even when NIC1 was active with iLO traffic)? (I don't know if it works, just a thought!)
